Our Accredited Emergency First Aid at Work Course is a vital training program designed to equip employees with the essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively to common workplace injuries and medical emergencies. Participants learn how to assess incidents, provide immediate care, and support injured or ill individuals until professional medical help arrives. This training ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and promotes a safer, more confident workforce.
Due to the changes in the SIA regulations it is a requirement for all those undertaking the Door Supervisor course to hold a valid First Aid certificate. This one day course is accepted as a valid accreditation and will cover the requirements listed below.
Module 1: Introduction to First Aid in the Workplace
- Role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- Legal and organizational requirements
- Principles of infection control and personal protection
Module 2: Assessing Emergencies
- Scene safety and risk assessment
- Triage and prioritization of casualties
- Calling for emergency services
Module 3: Managing Unconsciousness & Breathing Emergencies
- Recovery position
- Checking breathing and pulse
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Module 4: Dealing with Life-Threatening Bleeding
- Identifying types of bleeding
- Control of external bleeding
- Shock management
Module 5: Common Injuries & Illnesses
- Burns and scalds
- Cuts, grazes, and embedded objects
- Sprains, strains, and fractures
- Choking, seizures, asthma, and allergic reactions
Module 6: Medical Emergencies
- Heart attack and stroke
- Diabetes and hypoglycemia
- Anaphylaxis and use of auto-injectors (optional depending on region)
Module 7: Practical Scenarios & Assessment
- Realistic incident simulations
- Written test
- Practical evaluation of first aid skills
The training will be delivered at our approved training centre in Romford and will be lead by fully qualified instructors.
